Field | Action |
Server name | Specify the file server on which the user's files and applications that roam will reside by specifying a file share or a mapped network drive. |
Base folder | Specify the top-level directory name, under which the roaming file path will reside. This is the parent directory for the user's roaming data. By default this value is roaming. |
Sub-folder format | Specify the directory path, relative to the base folder name, in which the user's roaming data will reside. The sub-folder format is typically based on the user's name and determines the default personal roaming folder for each user on the roaming server. Use the example path as a format guide.
By default, this value is shortname. |

Show roaming setup dialogs | Specify whether Notes will display two optional dialog boxes to inform the roaming user about their upgrade status. You can customize the content of these dialogs using the following two fields. |
Modifiable text for the first dialog | Use Domino supplied or your own text to inform the user that their administrator has enabled roaming for them, and that while they continue to work they can monitor replication enablement progress. |
Text for the "Roaming complete" dialog | Use Domino supplied or your own text to inform the user that their roaming enablement has successfully completed. |
Data removal on local drives | Specify what cleanup action should occur when the user logs out of the client computer on which the user's data has roamed as local replicas. Choose one of the following options:
- Do not remove data -- Roaming user files will not be deleted from the client.
- Periodically -- Enables the Every [ ] days option on which you specify the number of days that should pass before roaming user files are deleted from the client.
- Remove when Notes shuts down -- Roaming user files will be deleted from the client upon Notes shutdown.
- Prompt the user -- Forces Notes to prompt the user, upon exiting Notes, to delete their roaming user files. If the user chooses Yes, their data directory on the client is deleted. If the user chooses No, the roaming data files remain.
