About this task
When you perform a log analysis, the search results display automatically and are also saved in the Log Analysis Results view of the log file (log.nsf). They include the following types of information:
Procedure
1. From the Domino Administrator, click the Server -> Analysis tab.
2. Click Analyze, and then click Log.
3. In the Log Analysis dialog box, create a search query by specifying search criteria such as event type and severity, complete the query, and view the result, as described in the following steps.
2. Specify types of events for log analysis Use the Event Type panel in the Log Analysis dialog box to select types of events to log.
3. Specify event severity levels for log analysis Use the Event Severity panel in the Log Analysis dialog box to select events to search based on their severity level.
4. Specify server tasks for log analysis Use the Server Tasks panel in the Log Analysis dialog box to select specific server tasks to log.
5. Specifying error codes for log analysis Use the Error Code panel in the Log Analysis dialog box to select specific errors to log.
6. Specify text to search for in events during log analysis Use the Words panel in the Log Analysis dialog box to specify text strings to search for while analyzing events.
7. Saving log analysis queries Use the Queries panel in the Log Analysis dialog box to save your log analysis queries.
8. Viewing the log file You can view the log file at any time, either before or after you complete a search query of the file.
