Manually updating full-text indexes for single databases
You can use the Domino® Administrator to update indexes manually after new information or documents have been added to databases. You can update a single index in the Database Properties box, or update one or more indexes from the Tools pane.

About this task

The Database Properties box (Full Text tab) provides useful information about an index, such as the number of unindexed documents currently in the database, the last time the index was updated, and its size.

To update an index in the Database Properties box

Procedure

1. From the Domino Administrator, select the server that stores the database.

2. On the Files tab, select the database whose index you want to update.

3. Choose File -> Application -> Access Control and make sure that you have at least Designer access in the database ACL.

4. Choose File -> Application -> Properties.

5. Click the Full Text tab.

6. Click Update Index.

To update one or more indexes from the Tools pane

Procedure

1. From the Domino Administrator, select the server that stores the databases.

2. Click the Files tab.

3. From the Tools pane, make sure that you have at least Designer access in the ACL of any database for which you want to update the index.

4. Select all the databases for which you want to update the index.

5. From the Tools pane, choose Tools -> Database -> Full Text Index.

6. Select Update.

7. Click OK.
